Become a Team Leader and Drive for Bestmark Express

Driver Incentives

We are looking for drivers to be out a minimum of 10 days. Depending on your home location, some drivers get through the house more often if you live on a route we deliver to or load out of. We are looking for drivers with a clean MVR and a work history that shows a minimum of two years’ experience with a work history that reflects commitment and dedication.

Pay Per Mile

  • Our drivers right now are starting at 52 cents per mile. 16 cents of that is per-diem. You also receive $25.00 outside the first and last stop. Our driver average around 3000 miles per week. All our trucks are Kenworth; they are set at 68 MPH.

Pay Increase

  • Drivers are offered ½ cents per mile on their year anniversary date. This is offered to drivers that have had no preventable accidents, incidents, or claims in the previous 12 months.

Retention Bonus

  • Drivers that are loyal to the company will receive retention bonuses at their 5-year mark as well as their 10-year mark. You will receive an additional 1 cent per mile at 5 years and again at 10 years on top of the ½ cent per mile pay increases.

Safety Bonus

  • We offer a sign-on BONUS of $750.00 after the completion of six months of employment. That six months is your probation period, during that time you cannot have any preventable accidents, incidents, or claims. If you do have any preventable accidents, incidents, or claims during the probation period, the cost will be deducted from your safety bonus.

Holiday Pay

  • We do offer holiday pay for the following five holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, and The 4th of July. Thanksgiving and Christmas. Standard holiday pay is $200.00 per holiday; you only receive holiday pay for the holidays that you choose to work.

Vacation Pay

  • We also offer vacation pay for our drivers. Vacation pay is based off the previous 51 weeks of work. The average of your previous 51 weeks will be paid to you on your 52-week mark. Vacation pay is only paid out to drivers that have had no preventable accidents, incidents, or claims in the previous 51 weeks.

Recruiting Bonus

  • Once hired, we offer a recruiting program as an incentive for our drivers to bring other qualified drivers to our company. If you choose to take part in this program, you can receive a bonus of $2500 (paid in $200/mo increments with the final $100 on the 13th month) once the recruited driver starts employment. During those 13 months, it is your responsibility to help with any questions that he or she might have regarding company procedures and policies or redirect them to the proper channel as needed. We take pride in our Team Leaders and functioning as a whole so that everyone succeeds.

Detention Pay

  • We also offer detention pay, $15.00 an hour after the first two hours and up to eight hours on selected receivers. To qualify for detention pay, you must arrive prior to your appointment time, send both your arrival call and your check call via Qualcomm as well as send message in a door or dock; or not in a door or dock two hours after your appointment time. Those must be sent via Qualcomm as well. You must also notify dispatch at the two-hour mark so that we can notify the shipper that we will be requesting detention.

Lanes

  • We run out of the Midwest to all parts of Florida. We have runs out of the Florida area that run back into the Midwest mainly Oklahoma, Texas, and Denver. We have runs from Missouri to Florida, and Florida to as far as California. We try not to go to any states in the North East or North West.

Fueling

  • RFID fueling at all major Loves Gas Station as well as EFS card swipe at pump for the fuel stops that don't support RFID yet.

Healthcare & Retirement

  • We offer health care and dental coverage through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas after your probation period.

Equipment

  • All trucks are equipped with ELDs.
  • We have DirecTV in-motion satellite TV with DVRs in all our trucks. We also have NFL packages and major movie channels.
  • Power Inverter
  • APU (also with an inverter)
  • We also have cameras in all our trucks. They are there for safety-related issues. If you have a safety-related incident, then the cameras will ensure you are cleared of liability so that you still receive your bonuses.
  • Qualcomm or PeopleNet
  • Bestpass and IPass (EZPass) for tolling.
  • Either PrePass or DriveWyse for weigh station bypass.

Home Time

  • We ask to be out at least 10 days at a time.
  • For every week you are out, you receive one day at home.
  • Home time must be requested 7 days prior to time off so that planning may be made.
  • We also have vehicles at our home terminal that are available for our drivers to use locally at any time or to take home if they are due for time off if their truck is in the shop for extended maintenance. You do have to live within a 200-mile radius to be able to take the company vehicles home unless first approved.
